WHY DOES THE PLANET NEED THESE?

Plastic toothbrushes are pollution: Over 4.7 million toothbrushes end up in the oceans every year, and are one of the top contributors to plastic waste in the oceans. Plastic toothbrushes are one of the many plastics that break up into “microplastics”, which end up in the bellies of many marine animals! This in turn ends up being ingested by us.

Bamboo toothbrushes are biodegradable: The fact that bamboo, like other woods, degrades naturally, and has a high strength-to-weight ratio, makes it an ideal material to make toothbrushes out of and to replace your old polluting plastic toothbrushes with. The bristles are the only part that is made of nylon and are therefore not biodegradable. Simply pull out the bristles with pliers when you are done and throw in the trash.

WHY DO YOU NEED THESE?

You care about what happens to the environment and recognize that in order to save it, we must all work to reduce usage of plastic. Although toothbrushes are not single-use, dentists do recommend replacing your toothbrush every three months. This results in 850 million toothbrushes being discarded in the US alone every year. That’s a lot of plastic waste!

Also, these toothbrushes come in a fully compostable paper package without tape or glue.
